Why we chose it
Travel becomes a sequence of commitments: where to go, whom to speak with, what to carry, when to leave. The writing matters because your choices determine the portions of this imagined world you encounter. That makes the work more than a text to read through once. A route is also an account of what you valued under pressure. The setting reworks the nineteenth century as speculative fiction rather than historical travel.
What it may shift How a path through a world is made of alternatives declined.
Which choice cost you a story you still want to know? Did the time limit change what you paid attention to, or the kind of companion you tried to be?
